Onion Bagel Chips

Renal and Renal Diabetic Exchanges:

1 Starch, 1 Fat



  • 2   3½ oz plain bagels
  • 2 tablespoons margarine, melted
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder


  1. Preheat oven to 325 F
  2. Cut each bagel in half vertically, using an electric knife.
  3. Place one bagel half, cut side down on a flat surface; cut vertically into 8 slices.
  4. Repeat procedure with remaining bagel halves.
  5. Place slices on baking sheet, combine margarine and onion powder and brush over bagels.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  7. Remove from pan; cool completely.

Store in airtight container.
